Recently, Netflix has improved its process for identifying VPNs and blocking them, potentially including Hide.me.
What do Hide.me say?
However, Netflix is notorious for being extremely difficult for VPNs to unblock. The streaming giant is constantly blacklisting VPN servers, so most VPNs have given up trying to stay ahead of the ban. If hide.me claims that it can access Netflix, then the provider must be confident that it can deliver — and so I put it to the test.
Does Netflix Actually Work with Hide.me VPN?
Yes, hide.me does work with Netflix but only if you’re on the Premium plan. You’ll find a special streaming tab in the app, where you can connect to an optimized server for Netflix. Unfortunately, you can’t unblock any streaming sites on the free version and this includes Netflix. When I connected to a US server on the free plan, I only saw Netflix’s infamous proxy error message:

If you’re going to watch Netflix and other streaming services, I suggest upgrading to the Premium plan (it’s risk-free for 30 days!). In my tests, I had no issues accessing any streaming sites via the optimized servers.

Final Word
Unfortunately, like many other free VPNs, hide.me’s free plan is extremely limited and doesn’t unblock any streaming platforms. In addition, you only have 10GB of monthly data on the free plan, which is barely enough for HD or Ultra HD video quality.
